Linguado Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy

These Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy (and any further rules, policies or guidelines, incorporated by reference, as they are amended and added from time to time) shall be called “Terms and Conditions” throughout this policy statement. Linguado may be referred to by its name or “we”, “us” or “our” throughout these Terms and Conditions. Linguado may access, preserve and share your information with Regulators, law enforcement or others in response to a legal request (e.g. a search warrant, court order or subpoena) if we have a good faith belief that the law requires us to do so. This may include responding to legal requests from Jurisdictions outside of the United States. Linguado may contain links to third party sites that are not owned or controlled by us. Linguado has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party site or services. When you create an account, you provide us with at least your login credentials, as well as some basic details such as your age, country of origin, [photo of yourself] and location. Some of the information you choose to provide us may be considered “special” or “sensitive” in certain jurisdictions, for example ethnic or racial group and religious beliefs. By choosing to provide this information, you consent to our processing that information. Of course, we also process your chats with other users as well as the content you publish, as part of the operation of the services. Also, other users may provide information about you, including photos, as they use our services. When you agree to these Terms and Conditions you give us permission to collect your precise geolocation through various means, depending on the service and device you are using, including GPS, Bluetooth or Wi- Fi connections, unless you change the settings in the app. The collection of your geolocation may occur in the background even when you aren’t using the services, if the permission you gave us permits such collection.

If you specifically decline permission for us to collect your geolocation, we will not collect it. The main reason we use your information is to help you connect with other users. This includes showing users’ location and profile or request to one another. We also analyze your profile and that of other users to recommend meaningful connections. We use the information to deliver and improve our services to you and other users. For example, but not limited to, create and manage your account and provide you with user support and response to your request. We link your various devices you use so that you can enjoy a consistent experience of our services on all of them. From time to time, we may ask for your consent to use your information for certain specific reasons. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at the e-mail address provided at the end of these Terms and Conditions. Since our goal is to help you connect with other native language speakers, sharing of users’ information is, of course, with other users. We also share some users’ information with service providers and partners who assist us in operating and improving our services. These third parties assist us with various tasks, including data hosting and maintenance, analytics, customer care, marketing and security operations. If you choose to limit the audience for all or part of your profile or for certain content or information about you, then it will be visible according to your settings.

WHEN REQUIRED BY LAW

We may also share user information with law enforcement and we may remove users who violate our Terms and Conditions, or have been reported for criminal activity and/or bad behavior. We may disclose your information if, in our view, it is reasonably necessary (i) to comply with a legal process, such as a court order, subpoena or search warrant, government/law enforcement investigation or other legal requirements; (ii) to assist in the prevention or detection of a crime; or (iii) to protect the safety of any person. CROSS-BORDER DATA TRANSFERS Sharing of information sometimes involves cross-border data transfers, for instance to or from the United States and other jurisdictions. As an example, where the service allows for users to be located in the European Economic Area (“EEA”), their personal information is transferred to countries outside of the EEA. We use standard contract clauses approved by the European Commission or other suitable safeguards to permit data transfers from the EEA to other countries. Standard contractual clauses are commitments between companies transferring personal data, binding them to protect the privacy and security of your data. MINIMUM AGE OF USERS The minimum age of a User for the Linguado app is 18 years old. Linguado is relying on the information provided in the User profile completed by the User. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions the User is verifying that the information they provide to Linguado including age (or date of birth) is accurate and that they are not younger than 18 years old.

Linguado appreciates that you put your trust in us when you provide us your information. We work hard to keep your information secure so that you can focus on building connections and experiences with other users and finding that common language.

If you want to stop using the Linguado app, you can stop all information collection by Linguado by deleting the app on your device. If you believe that the information we hold about you is inaccurate or that we are no longer entitled to use it and to request its deletion or object to its processing, please contact us at:

For your protection and the protection of all of our users, we may ask you to provide proof of identity before we can answer the above requests. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, State of Delaware.
